Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026. This policy covers the Wakzuno alarm clock app for Android and this website.
In short
Wakzuno has no accounts, no server of its own and no sync. Your alarms, your settings and any alarm sound you add stay on your phone, in a place only the app can reach. Nobody, the maker included, can read them.
Three other companies are involved, and only for the one thing each of them does: Google AdMob shows the adverts that pay for a free app, Google's consent tool asks whether you agree to personalised adverts and remembers your answer, and RevenueCat, together with Google Play, handles subscriptions. The app measures nothing about how you use it: there is no tracking, no profiling and no crash reporting.
Who is responsible
Wakzuno makes and publishes the app and this website, and decides what happens with the small amount of data described here. In privacy law that makes Wakzuno the controller. You can reach us at [email protected].
What stays on your phone
- Your alarms: time, days, name, sound, volume, snooze and challenge settings.
- Your settings, including your language choice and the defaults for new alarms.
- Any audio file you add as an alarm sound. A copy is kept in the app's own folder.
- A note of whether your ad-free subscription is active, so the app knows even when you are offline.
None of this is sent anywhere. Removing the app removes all of it.
What is sent, and to whom

Wakzuno does not sell data, does not create a profile of you, and has no adverts and no tracking of any kind on the alarm screen or during a challenge.
Why this is allowed
- Personalised adverts: because you agreed. Google's consent question is asked first, and no advert is requested until you have answered it. You can change your answer at any time, and the app stops asking for personalised adverts from then on.
- Adverts that are not personalised: because a free app has to be paid for. If you say no, Google still shows adverts, chosen from the screen you are on rather than from a profile of you. That is the interest Wakzuno relies on here, and you can take even those away with the subscription.
- Asking for your answer and keeping it: because we have to. The law requires the question, and requires us to be able to show that it was asked and answered.
- Subscriptions: because that is what you bought. Handling the purchase and keeping the ad-free version working is the agreement between you and us.
- Your alarms and settings: nobody processes them but you. They stay on your phone and are never sent anywhere.
How long anything is kept
- On your phone: your alarms, settings and added sounds stay until you delete them or remove the app. Your answer to the advert question stays until you change it or remove the app.
- With Google and RevenueCat: what they receive is kept for as long as their own policies say, and those policies are the ones that apply to it.
- With Wakzuno: nothing, ever. There is no server to keep it on.
Adverts and your choice
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Wakzuno shows Google's consent question before asking for a single advert, and nothing is requested until you have answered. You can look at that answer or change it at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy → Advertising preferences.
Saying no to personalised adverts does not remove adverts. Google shows adverts that are not based on a profile of you instead. If you take the ad-free subscription, no advert is requested at all and you are never shown the consent question, because there is nothing left to agree to.
Permissions, and why each one is needed
Every permission below exists so that an alarm rings when you set it to. The app shows the status of each one in settings, with an explanation, so you can see exactly what is allowed.

Wakzuno does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or the rest of your files. When you add an alarm sound, Android's own file picker hands the app that one file and nothing else.
Children
Wakzuno is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data held about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to it being used, ask for its use to be limited, and take back consent you have given.
- From Wakzuno there is nothing to hand over or delete. There is no account and no server. Everything the app keeps is on your phone, and removing the app removes it.
- For adverts: change or take back your consent in the app under Settings → Privacy → Advertising preferences, or in Google's own advertising settings. Taking back consent does not undo what was done while it was given.
- For subscriptions: the purchase record sits with Google Play and RevenueCat, and their own policies and controls apply to it.
- If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, write to us first, and you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
This website
wakzuno.com is a set of plain pages. It sets no cookies, measures nothing and loads no scripts, fonts or images from anyone else. Your visit is logged by the company that hosts the pages (GitHub Pages) as part of sending them to you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
